Cambodian court decided to release on bail two of seven Thai nationals who were arrested in Cambodia late last month for illegal entering into Cambodia's territory. The two released on bail were Thai Democratic Party lawmaker Panich Vikitsreth and Naruemol Chitwaratana, house keeper, according to Chaing Sinath, investigating judge at Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
The two were bailed three days after their lawyers submitted their bail request to the court for all the seven Thai nationals arrested and charged with illegal entry into Cambodia and unlawful entering into military zone.
The lawyers along with Thai embassy in Cambodia have assured to the court
their cooperation to bring the charged persons to court.
Thai embassy officers could not be reached on Thursday, but sources said the two on bail will be placed at the Thai Embassy compound.
The judge, however, did not elaborate the decision why only two of the seven were released on bail.
The other five remain in custody awaiting trial include Veera Somkwamkid, who leads a People's Alliance of Democrats group called the Thailand Patriot Network and Ratree Taiputana Taiboon, known as his Veera's secretary.
