David Bentley is aiming for a 'positive effect' on both Birmingham and his career after completing his switch to the Blues.
The former England winger has moved on loan to St Andrews for the rest of the season after finding opportunities limited with parent club Tottenham.
The 26-year-old now wants to put this frustration behind him and show the sort of form which earned him a £15million switch from Blackburn to White Hart Lane in 2008.
Bentley said: "It has been a difficult time for me the last couple of years.
"I found it hard not being involved as much as I wanted at Tottenham. They have got some great players and you can find yourself the wrong side of the fence.
