Mick McCarthy would welcome Robbie Keane back to Wolves with open arms, but doubts whether a deal would be possible.
The Irish striker began his career at Molineux as a talented teenager, with his time in the Black Country putting him on the road to stardom.
Eleven years have passed since he last pulled on the gold of Wolves and a distinguished career has taken him to Coventry, Inter Milan, Leeds, Liverpool and Tottenham.
He has, however, struggled to win a regular role at Spurs over the past year and took in a spell on loan at Celtic last season.
It is expected that he will be on his way out of White Hart Lane again in January, with Harry Redknapp believed to be willing to listen to offers.
