Serbia became the first nation to book their place in Saturday's Hopman Cup final when Novak Djokovic beat Belgium's Ruben Bemelmans 6-3 6-2.
The Serbs needed to win one of three rubbers on Thursday but were made to wait after Justine Henin defeated Ana Ivanovic 6-4 6-3 in the opening tie.
Playing in her third match since returning from an elbow injury, Henin finally looked back to her normal self as she raced into a 4-1 lead in the second set before closing it out.
But world number three Djokovic was not expected to slip up against Bemelmans and he duly obliged with a straight-forward success to ensure his country topped Group B.
