Rovers appoint Jensen

Blackburn have named former Arsenal midfielder John Jensen as their new assistant manager.

Rovers boss Steve Kean has decided to bring in the Dane to assist him at Ewood Park following the departures of Sam Allardyce and Neil McDonald.

Jensen has been out of work since leaving Danish Superliga side Randers in October.

The 45-year-old has also enjoyed spells as assistant manager to Michael Laudrup at Brondby and Getafe.

Jensen is looking forward to working at Ewood Park and is hopeful he can bring some knowledge and experience to the club.

"From what I see and hear this looks like a very exciting time for Blackburn Rovers, with the new owners and a new manager," said Jensen.

"I think I can bring knowledge and experience to the job and I also believe I can help players become better individually and the team to improve as a collective unit. I view it as a great opportunity."
