Roddick stays on track

Second seed Andy Roddick was the first player to book his place in the semi-finals of the Brisbane International with a 6-3 6-2 defeat of Marcos Baghdatis.

The defending champion took an hour and 18 minutes to close out the Cypriot's challenge and set up a clash with the big-serving South African Kevin Anderson.

"I feel good after three matches. I felt good about pretty much everything tonight," Roddick said after crushing the fifth seed.

Looking ahead to his match with Anderson, who got the better of Colombian Santiago Giraldo 2-6 6-3 6-4, he added: "It's going to be a different match. I feel like it's less about form.

"With a serve like that you're not going to see a lot of balls you could go games without seeing it, so it's hard to get into a rhythm.

"It's going to be a matter of opportunity."
