Phillips ready to leave Blues

Phillips ready to leave BluesKevin Phillips has admitted he is ready to leave Birmingham in the transfer window.

The veteran striker is in his third season with the Blues having signed a one-year contract extension last summer.

But the 37-year-old has been linked with Celtic after remaining a fringe player this term, making just five substitute appearances in the Premier League.

On-loan striker Matt Derbyshire has been ahead of Phillips in the pecking order at St Andrews in recent weeks and manager Alex McLeish has made bids to sign Robbie Keane from Tottenham and Kenny Miller from Rangers.

Phillips accepts McLeish's desire to bolster his squad but the former Sunderland man has confirmed he is willing to consider offers from elsewhere this month.
