Liverpool v Everton preview

David MoyesAlmost 20 years after quitting as Liverpool boss in the wake of one of the most famous Merseyside derbies of all time, Kenny Dalglish faces Everton once again on Sunday.

The Anfield legend shocked his thousands of fans in 1991 when he quit his first managerial tenure after a dramatic 4-4 draw at Goodison Park in the fifth round of the FA Cup in late February.

But Dalglish is now back in charge of Liverpool, having been appointed last weekend as a replacement for the sacked Roy Hodgson on an initial six-month agreement in an attempt to save his beloved club.

The Scot has failed to win since his promotion from a role in the 18-time champions of England's Academy after suffering an FA Cup defeat at Manchester United before dreadful defending led to a 2-1 loss at Blackpool in midweek.

Throwing away the lead at Bloomfield Road ensured an embarrassing pair of defeats to last season's Championship play-off winners, added to Liverpool's problems and has snowballed suggestions that King Kenny's crown may be slipping.
