Foxes complete Yakubu coup

Foxes complete Yakubu coupLeicester have completed the signing of Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni on loan until the end of the season.

As revealed by skysports.comon Tuesday evening Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson was targeting a shock swoop for the Nigeria international.

And the former England boss has now secured the services of the powerful ex-Portsmouth and Middlesbrough forward for the remainder of the campaign.

The 28-year-old joined the Toffees in an £11.25million deal from Boro in the summer of 2007 but has struggled for regular action this term.

Yakubu has made just eight starts and scored only one goal for David Moyes' side and has now been allowed to make the step down into the Championship.

Leicester boss Eriksson has hailed the club's swoop for the striker as a real coup and believes he will be a key player in the coming months.
