Carlo calls for improvement

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti believes results must pick up soon - or he could be out of a job.

The Italian tactician led the Blues to a first-ever Premier League and FA Cup double last term and his side began this campaign in blistering fashion, winning their first five top flight games.

But just one win in nine league attempts - the latest a 1-0 reverse at Wolves - has seen Chelsea drop to fifth in the table and led to increasing speculation concerning the Italian's job.

Ancelotti admits he does not know what is in owner Roman Abramovich's mind, but accepts his side can not keep playing as they have done recently until the end of the season.

He has called on the Blues to play better in the next two weeks, starting against Ipswich in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Asked if he felt he had to retain the FA Cup to stay, he told the Daily Star Sunday: "I don't know.

"I would not have lost my job if we did not win the league last year.
