Tough start for Hewitt

Lleyton Hewitt arrives at the Australian Open in great form after winning the Kooyong Classic just across town in Melbourne, but he knows he faces a huge opening match in the big one against David Nalbandian.

Former world number one Hewitt has slipped down the rankings due to injury problems over the last couple of years, meaning he faces a tough opener at his home grand slam.

Hewitt and Nalbandian have history, meeting in the 2002 Wimbledon final before a stormy clash in the Australian Open quarter-finals when they shoulder-barged each other at a change of ends.

They clashed again - this time verbally - after a Davis Cup tie in Sydney six months later with the Argentinian questioning Hewitt's sense of fair play.

Local hero Hewitt refused to fan the flames ahead of their latest showdown but admitted he will have to come out all guns blazing.
