Stephen Hunt has urged Wolves to pip their Premier League rivals and secure the return of Robbie Keane in the transfer window.
Keane is out of favour at Tottenham and is set for a loan move from White Hart Lane this month, with West Ham and Birmingham hoping to secure the services of the 30-year-old striker.
But Wolves have also expressed a strong interest in taking Keane for the rest of the season and winger Hunt is confident his fellow Irishman still has much to offer in a career that began at Molineux.
Keane left for Coventry in 1999, later joining Inter Milan, Leeds and Liverpool, and has made just two starts this season in his second spell with Spurs.
"Robbie's a class player who would be a boost to most Premier League clubs once he gets a few games under his belt," Hunt told the Daily Star.
"He needs games but his ability levels are not in question. He is already playing for a big club.
