Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has revealed he wants to keep playing at the top level until he is 40.
The 32-year-old centre-half has been blighted by injury problems in recent years but this season he has managed 18 appearances in all competitions.
Ferdinand is currently enjoying a return to form as the Red Devils remain unbeaten in the Premier League going into Sunday's clash with Tottenham.
The England international admits that he is pleased to have got through the campaign unscathed, and is targeting many more years in the game.
"I'm buzzing again. Now I want to play for as long as possible," he told the News of the World.
"My dream is to carry on until I'm 39 or 40. I don't want to finish my career and think, 'if I had given that little bit extra, spent a bit more time on the training ground, I would have been able to play a year or two more'."
