Manchester City have appealed against Pablo Zabaleta's red card in the 0-0 draw with Arsenal.
The Football Association have confirmed that the Blues have submitted a claim for wrongful dismissal following Wednesday night's stalemate at the Emirates.
Zabaleta and Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna were both shown a straight red card after clashing late on during the Premier League match, and City feel Sagna was the aggressor.
The Gunners full-back reacted to a challenge from the Argentina international and pressed his forehead against his opponent, with both players being issued with their marching orders.
The FA confirmed on their official website that a regulatory commission will hear the claim this Friday, January 7.
City are set to travel to Leicester on Sunday for an FA Cup third-round tie.
