Carlo Ancelotti insists he would be 'surprised' if he was sacked by Chelsea, despite the club's recent slump in form.
The Blues are enduring their worst run of results in 14 years, capped by a shock 1-0 defeat at Wolves on Wednesday night.
However, manager Ancelotti claims owner Roman Abramovich has given him reassurances over his future, and does not expect to be shown the door.
When asked directly if he feared he would be axed by the Russian billionaire, who has moved swiftly to remove managers in the past, the Italian replied: "Yes, I would be surprised."
He added: "Obviously it is not my decision. I hope that I can continue this job because I would like to stay here and I have a good relationship with the players and with the club."
Questioned whether he remains the right man for the Chelsea job, Ancelotti said: "If you ask me, what can I say?
"I can say to you because I know very well this team, and I'm sure this moment will change and we will be able to fight for everything in this season."
