Arsenal seek new Nasri deal

Arsenal are hoping to agree a contract extension with Samir Nasri but the French midfielder is leaving his options open, according to his agent.

Nasri has been in the form of his life for the Gunners this season, emerging as an integral part of Arsene Wenger's side.

The 23-year-old has proved he is capable of sharing captain Cesc Fabregas' creative burden, scoring 13 goals already this term, including nine in 16 Premier League starts alone.

The France international's current deal expires in 2012 but Arsenal are hopeful of tying him down to a new long-term contract.

The Gunners are keen to avoid a repeat of the situation that saw Mathieu Flamini's contract run down in 2008, allowing the midfielder to join AC Milan on a free transfer, and Wenger knows he must act fast.
