South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak has called for national solidarity against North Korea.
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has called for national solidarity against North Korean military aggression.
In his fortnightly radio address, Mr Lee warned South Koreans that Pyongyang looks for division in the South as an opportunity to strike.
He suggested that divided public opinion in the wake of North Korea's attack earlier this year on a Southern navy ship prompted Pyongyang to bomb a South Korean island last month.
Last week Korea threatened a nuclear "sacred war" against the South; Mr Lee's promised "a merciless counterattack" against any fresh North Korean strikes. (From ABC News)
