Giggs wary of complacency

Ryan Giggs insists Manchester United can take nothing for granted despite setting the Premier League pace.

The Red Devils hold the only unbeaten record in the top flight as 2010 draws to a close, and have edged clear at the top of the table.

They may have dropped from the summit by the time they take to the field against Birmingham on Tuesday evening, but they would have three games in hand on arch-rivals Manchester City - the only side that can close the two-point gap at the top.

It would appear then that United are in pole position to reclaim the crown they surrendered to Chelsea in 2009/10.

Giggs, though, is aware that anything could happen this season, so unpredictable has the division been, and he knows Sir Alex Ferguson's men must be wary of allowing complacency to set in.

"You are obviously wary because of the way the league has been this year," said the Welsh winger.

"Anyone can beat anyone. We are thankful we remain unbeaten and confidence is high. But we realise that nothing can be taken for granted.

"It is a tough league and we need to be at our best in every game."
