Coyle: European push
Ancelotti: Under pressure
Chelsea's problems continue to mount and Bolton will be keen to take advantage of that on Wednesday.
The Blues' flying start to the season has long been forgotten, with a worrying wobble leaving their title dreams hanging in the balance.
The reigning champions have looked anything but contenders for the crown over recent weeks, with just six points taken from their last eight games.
Seven points now separate them from the summit and Tottenham's victory over Newcastle on Tuesday saw them tumble out of the top four.
They will return to the UEFA Champions League places with victory over Bolton, and a 14-match unbeaten run against the Trotters suggests a reversal in fortune could be on the cards.
The Blues, for all their troubles, can also boast the best home defence in the Premier League, with just four goals conceded at Stamford Bridge this term.
They have also only failed to score once in their last 29 matches in front of their own supporters and have not gone three games without a win on home soil since December 2008.
Bolton, though, will travel to the capital knowing that a victory for them in midweek would be enough to lift them above their opponents into fifth.
Unfortunately for Owen Coyle, the Trotters have failed to keep a clean sheet against Chelsea in their last 19 top-flight encounters.
They have also shipped plenty of goals against other sides of late, with a Boxing Day shut-out against West Brom their first since the opening day of the season.
