Roberto Mancini admits Emmanuel Adebayor's hat-trick against Lech Poznan could see the striker start against former club Arsenal on Sunday. Adebayor has endured a difficult start to the season for Manchester City and has been overshadowed by the prolific form of captain Carlos Tevez.
The Togo forward produced a lacklustre performance when starting the 3-2 win at Blackpool last weekend, but was retained for Thursday's Europa League tie.
The 26-year-old repaid City boss Mancini's faith by scoring his first goals of the season as his treble secured a 3-1 success over Lech.
Mancini was pleased to see Adebayor on the scoresheet and confirmed it has boosted the forward's prospects of facing his old team in the Premier League.
